Sandy beaches along Tulum's hotel zone south of the ruins, where schools work from hotel beaches. The reef sits about 800 m out with waves breaking on it. E–SE wind is onshore to side-onshore, 12–25 kn in season. North winds are offshore, so schools run trips to Isla Blanca instead. Expect swimmers and seaweed (sargassum) in some seasons.
