Mahahual

Remote village beach on the southern Quintana Roo coast, about 4–5 hours' drive from Cancún. There is no kite school or rescue boat. A shallow lagoon with seagrass and coral heads sits inside a fringing reef a few hundred metres out, where waves break. E trades are onshore to side-onshore. Sargassum can pile up in summer, and the cruise pier adds boat traffic. Coordinates are approximate.
